Apparently, the secret to a happy life is being an Apple customer. Be that the iPhone, the AirPods or the Apple Watch, Apple and their event intro will have you believe, the cost of happiness is at most $1099. It doesn’t matter if you’re a priest in an empty church, an unfit grandpa with a beer-belly, a disabled individual in a wheelchair, a side-hustling Uber driver, the moment you pick up those Apple devices, the world becomes a better place, and you will be singing your heart out and out-grin the mighty Joker himself. This year’s Apple iPhone event makes me think, some of us might just hold off on spending our hard-earned cash and wait another year because frankly the updates were a mixed bag.

In some ways, we got exactly what we all excepted, in other ways, we got none of it, yet woke up having old devices with quite extraordinary new features, some of which made me think — hey, Apple might just care about people — only to realise, that’s only…
