Is it a phone box or is it a phone holder? Or is it both? And who even needs this?

London, like Copenhagen and Barcelona, used to be a recurring destination for me. I had either very good friends or relatives to visit, and I would do so quite frequently, London especially. When a flight takes roughly an hour from Dublin to your destination and one of your best friends happens to live there, spending the weekend in London becomes an easy decision. Once I remember taking two weekend trips in a row, to spend time with two different friends in the British capital. But then life happened and so did Brexit, and London has become more of an array of fond memories than a destination, and with that also the unmissable classic red phone box that LEGO decided to immortalise in their latest LEGO Ideas set #21347.

You clearly have to be an Anglophile to want this set, or at least that’s what LEGO and the fan designer John Cramp think. He isn’t new to LEGO Ideas, as he’s reached three other times 10,000 votes to be considered for an official set, but was never successful in being selected. Fourth time’s a charm, I guess?

His original design was followed almost to the stud, minus the iconic post box that LEGO designers replaced…
