Did LEGO Get Sherlock Holmes Wrong?
There’s canonical Sherlock, and then there’s all the other versions, LEGO’s included. Nevertheless, will the questions about Irene Adler and Moriarty ever be answered?
It’s incredibly rare for me to pick up a LEGO set on release day and start building it just hours later. While I do tend to get most sets on the day they appear on the shelves, I am often very behind on LEGO I have yet to build, photograph or write about. Not this time, though. Getting my hands on the new LEGO Sherlock Holmes set was something I anticipated for a long time, and I got to building mere hours later in the company of my latest favourite show, Elementary.
Yes, it is purely coincidental that I am watching one of the many versions of the Sherlock Holmes tale just when LEGO decides to release a Sherlock set. But I am glad for the coincidence, as building the set while enjoying the show does add to the experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone planning to pick this set up. And that I suppose already brings me to an important preamble — Arthur Conan Doyle and his timeless detective story in its many versions.
