I Can’t Recommend The MacBook Pro To Developers Anymore
It’s simply not the ideal development machine anymore. The M4 Air is all you need…
I’m blue da ba dee da ba di, and so is my new MacBook Air, that I swear I wasn’t planning to pick up this year. But after nearly two months of mulling over it, I did, for reasons similar to owning the M3 Max MacBook Pro with a mostly maxed out configuration. Apart from maybe the occasional review, I would rather not think too much about purchasing Macs, iPads or whatever else Apple throws at us. Unless it’s a Vision Pro, which in Ireland is still not being sold, and God or Tim only knows if it ever will.
I’ll be the first to admit that I’m solving a very 1st world problem. Here I am with an M3 Max MacBook Pro with 128 GB of RAM and 2 TB of SSD, still typing this very article on the MacBook Air. Apart from this, being a business investment for me, there are a couple of other aspects that make this make sense to me, and I suspect to many others out there: practicality and versatility. I’ll start with the first.
