Meet Apple’s New Digital Camera — It’s Called The iPhone 17 Pro
At this point, why do we even bother calling it a phone? A close, hands-on look at the new iPhone 17 Pro…
Do you remember the rotary phone? It had one job. Do you remember the early mobile phone? It also had one job. And then we got SMS and snake. A colour screen. And then there was the Kyocera VP-210 with its builtin camera. Or was it the Samsung SCH-V200 or Sharp’s J-Phone? Who knows really? My classmate was rocking a Siemens MC60, and according to him, it was the first mobile phone with integrated camera. But, ultimately, it matters little who was first, because from that point onward, it became one of the deciding factors for getting a new phone. The iPhone 17 Pro is no different.
Not really a phone anymore
Truth be told, most of us haven’t really been buying phones anymore. Not for at least a decade. It’s always better screen, longer battery-life or an improved camera system that ultimately gets us to switch from one phone to another. Heck, the supposedly main function of a phone isn’t even truly used anymore. It’s all internet-enabled messaging apps. People don’t even call each other anymore without texting before, and even then, it’s FaceTime or WhatsApp, or whatever else app you’re using.
