I bought it, I watched it, and now I have thoughts on it. Some studded, some not so much…

When I released my novel at the beginning of 2024, I felt a little bit self-conscious about it. Why would anyone want to read my story? Why is my story so special? I’m in my late 30s after all and have no other major titles to my name, no albums released, no awards — apart from maybe one — so in the grand scheme of things, I’m a nobody. Especially compared to Pharrell Williams, who went ahead and did just that, told his story, albeit at 51 — that dude does not look a day over 30 — and did it with the same bricks I have been building with for 32 years: LEGO bricks. He — or whoever came up with it— called the story “Piece by Piece”. Intriguing at first and damn clever in hindsight.

What many viewers don’t know is that Pharrell also released in collaboration with the LEGO Group a set, that, I think, is one of the most inspiring LEGO sets the Danish toymaker has ever put on the shelves. Those who enjoyed the biopic should absolutely get the set and build it.

Building Pharrell’s “Over the Moon” set makes the “Piece by Piece” biopic a tangible, one of a kind experience.
