Pure Genius, Or Just Tedious? A LEGO Milky Way Review

“That looks like an incredibly tedious set to build” — was the reaction of one of the LEGO store assistants, followed by “and by the way, you’re the first one to buy it”. By “it” he meant the Milky Way LEGO set, another fresh 2024 May release from the ART theme. My response was “Challenge accepted!” in a Barney Stinson tone and a massive grin on my face. It’s always hard to convince me not to buy a LEGO ART set, and this was no exception. I’ll be honest though, as soon as I opened the box I realised, this won’t be an easy set to review, and do so fairly. I already loved it.

Why the Milky Way, though?

The LEGO Group seems to have decided to bring back their Space theme in a big way in 2024. In fact, it’s not even just a theme anymore, it’s part of many themes, such as LEGO City, LEGO Friends, LEGO Technic, LEGO Icons, LEGO Creator, LEGO Dreamzzz, LEGO Duplo, LEGO Classic, an entire minifig series, and you guessed it… even LEGO ART.
