Half the world understood what Apple Intelligence is, what it does, and how it works. The other half, not so much, and to be fair, a lot was said in very little time. The Cupertino giant managed to land a jaw-dropping 40-minute presentation on AI alone, on how they imagined and implemented “artificial intelligence for the rest of us”. Yet, even 40 minutes wasn’t enough to ensure everyone understood the relevant details around their newest and greatest tech. This was a jam-packed event, and Tim Cook admitted to iJustine to having to cut a lot down to fit everything into a total of two hours, a third of which was dedicated to AI. But now that Apple Intelligence has been announced, it’s important to get the facts and set expectations right.

What it actually is and isn’t

Apple Intelligence is Apple branded artificial intelligence (AI). To some, this may still come as a surprise, but AI is nothing new for Apple. Most Apple devices by now have been using AI for many years. For instance, it has been sitting at the core of the Apple Watch since April 2015.
