There’s no two ways about it. The LEGO Group’s Batman the Animated Series Gotham City set is by far the most epic DC LEGO set the Danish toymaker has released to date. There’s simply no point leaving that conclusion to the end of the article because there are far more important and exciting things to mention when it comes to this newly released 2024 set than concluding whether it’s great or not. While not entirely flawless, it’s epic in so many ways that I might just convince you to spend 300 bucks on a box full of bricks, which — if you put the work in — will end up becoming the centrepiece of any room you’ll display it in.
Make no mistake, this is 100% a display set regardless of the near-infinite number of easter-eggs it hides, so before you head to the LEGO store to shell out 300 bucks on a little over 4200-piece set, ensure you have the space to display it. Give yourself an 80×50 cm space, and if you’re going to hang it — which you can, thanks to the two hooks it comes with — make sure whatever you hang it on, can hold about 3 kg.
