First introduced as AR Studio in 2017, Spark AR has been used by over one billion people around the globe to create AR experiences.

And, the annual developer conference of Facebook, F8 2019 had some exciting news for AR developers. Spark AR, its powerful AR software suite got some major renovating. Support for Windows is one of them, among increased efficiency, control and interactivity of the AR creation process.

A new feature, “Blocks” is here to help you break your project into small reusable portions. With blocks, you can arrange and assemble your project in a better way. It can also help you jumpstart your new projects. Along with sharing tips and codes, you can now share blocks too.

The Patch Editor in the Spark AR Studio got rewritten entirely and a new UI and foundation that will make it even more powerful. The ease of adding complex interactions to AR effects increased with new features like blocks and audio controls.

You can now test your AR effects directly on Instagram and Facebook with the newly added in-product testing.

With the latest Patch Editor, you can manipulate sound like never before, from making AR effects respond to sound and music to changing the voice pitch.
