Random drawing I made this past weekend, to ease my anxiety about the news and do something non-digital. Taking up old hobbies and creative pursuits helps during crazy times like these.

By now, most if not all of us have moved every aspect of our everyday lives — work, eating, exercise— indoors.

It’s not an easy transition … especially if you live with other people, are exhausted parents with bored children, or are single and have no one with whom to shelter in place.

I’m trying to ride out the solitude to the best of my ability and stay calm while focusing on what I can control — and create. Here are a few helpful resources I wanted to pass on to Bride in Reverse readers:

  • The YMCA has free online exercise classes, including bootcamp, barre, yoga and classes for older adults. Check them out here.
  • Worried about how to use up your pantry ingredients and save money? I wrote a post a while back that talks about sweet potatoes, black beans and other multi-purpose ingredients and how to use them to make flavorful dishes. Find more budget-savvy cooking inspiration here.
  • Still venturing outside, hopefully six feet apart from fellow wanderers? Give your walk or run a creative, scavenger-hunt type of theme, like capturing color you see while you’re exploring your neighborhood. Take photos of what you find with your phone. I did a color walk the other day and captured D.C.’s spring blooms, some graffiti, and even the electric red lettering of a public sign. Going on a search for color in my neighborhood helped me relax after being in front of my laptop all day. Get more ideas for how to live a sensual life here.
  • Finally, for those of you who don’t have someone to support you and hold you at night after a long day of teleworking, I feel your pain. Don’t beat yourself up about it. Instead, read this.

If you know someone who might like Bride in Reverse, thank you for forwarding this email to them and inviting them to follow my publication for more ideas.

As always, I wish each and every one of you your heart’s truest happiness, during this weird, uncertain time. ❤
