From corporate to NGO
For years, Eugenia worked for large companies or startups. When a bigger company acquired the one where she was working, the staff was asked to move to Switzerland: it was a turning point for Eugenia. As a young mother, she did not want to move and saw there an opportunity to start her own impactful project, one that would position her as an example for her children. She enrolled in entrepreneurial courses and was surprised to notice that youths were totally absent from these training, in spite of the high unemployment rates in Spain. She realized the great need there was to inspire young people and motivate them to build their own jobs. “I did not find the cause,” says Eugenia “the cause found me”. So she founded Inspira-T, an NGO to inspire young people, and spent 2 years making it grow. Soon, it turned out very hard to rely on volunteers, and even more difficult to be financially dependent from slow and administrative grants. She started thinking “how can we grow?”
The need to have a sustainable business model & the creation of her startup
“I realized that coming from the business world, I was much more comfortable here than in the NGO world.” So Eugenia decided to start her company, future.u fitness club. In this community and space, young people can reconnect with their passions, their talents and what they really want to do in life. And get the skills and experience to help them achieve it. It is a fitness club of the mind in which you can enter freely and go out stronger!
“We provide a safe space where they can try new experiences without the fear of failure, learn from them, challenge themselves and eventually be able to get a job they will really love. There is a very wide offer of communities for students and professionals, but there are very few structures to support and motivate those that don’t know yet what they want to do in their lives, want to rethink it or simply don’t find a job. We are here for them.” She had though already a few months about the idea of starting this company when Eugenia joined Bridge for Billions thanks to the sponsorship of the Fundacion Creas.
Eugenia’s Bridge for Billions journey
“Entering Bridge for Billions was an incredible luck. I had many ideas, but I needed structure and focus, and that’s exactly what Bridge for Billions brought me.” She really enjoyed being imposed a certain pace “I like having deadlines, it motivates me and enables me to take out my ideas. With the tools I could really define my Value Proposition, get the essence of my project and of what I bring to young people. Also, knowing that at the end of the process I’ll have an incredible deck for investors is a real drive!”
She adds that her mentor really helped her to focus on the core of her business “We both had a real affinity with respect to youth and youth issues. My mentor helped me a lot to understand my target and communicate the “why” behind every step I take at future.u fitness club.”
Bridge for Billions helped her to fine-tune each step of her business plans, and to improve the communication of her project. “Last week, I participated in a Pitch contest, and the feedback I got is that it was very inspiring.”
What’s next?
With future.u fitness club, Eugenia is determined to change the paradigm, boost the self-esteem of this disillusioned youth and give them the opportunity to create the job of their dreams. “In the medium term, I need funding to strengthen this community and to start inspiring youth… They are so uninspired… There are so many beautiful success stories but what we hear is only “crisis crisis crisis”.”
Inspiration story
When asked about those success stories, Eugenia’s first reaction is “I have so many of them… My niece was in a situation of “what I am going to do with my life” and was one of the first to attend the inspiration sessions and then the challenges. Together with 10 other girls, they organized a fashion show from A to Z, in the streets of their neighborhood. I cannot begin to describe the feeling of satisfaction and pride on their faces. That’s the moment I thought that I had to bring inspiration to many more people” She also evokes young people that invented their own profession, like this guy who was a school failure, learned to woodwork and started making guitars with pallets; or this other one that loved running and now does “jogging tours” for tourists in Barcelona.

De empresas a su propria ONG
Durante mucho años, Eugenia trabajó en grandes empresas o startups. Cuando una empresa mas grande compró la donde ella trabajaba, su equipo y ella incluso tenian que moverse a Suiza. Pero como joven mama, ella no queria moverse y vio alli una oportunidad de arrancar su proprio proyecto, uno que de verdad valga la pena y que sea un ejemplo para sus niños. Eugenia empezó a hacer cursos de emprendimiento y a formarse y se percató que en ninguno de esos cursos habia jóvenes… ¡Con el paro que hay en España! Se dio cuenta de la necesidad tan grande de inspirar a jovenes y darles la motivacion y las competencias para que creen sus propios trabajos. “ No es que yo tuve esta causa, es que la causa me encontró” explica Eugenia.
Entonces fundó Inspira-T, una ONG para inspirar a jovenes, donde estuvo 2 años intentando de hacerla crecer. Pero se dio cuenta que el voluntariado no funcionaba para ayudar a esos jóvenes porque se necesitaban profesionales. Ademas, era muy dificil crecer con una dependencia financiera a las subvenciones de organizaciones publicas tipo ayuntamientos... Con procesos demasiado administrativos y lentos. El problema principal de Eugenia ahora era “¿Como vamos a crecer?”
La necesidad de un modelo de negocio sostenible & la creacion de su startup
“Me di cuenta que veniendo del mundo de la empresa, yo estoy mucho más cómoda en el mundo empresarial que en el de las ONGs.” Asi Eugenia decidió arrancar su propia empresa: future.u fitness club. “Future.u es una comunidad y un espacio para jóvenes, para que puedan reconectar con lo que quieren hacer, con sus pasiones, con sus talentos. Queremos que puedan tener nuevas experiencias sin temer al fracaso y asi aprender lo que necesitan para tener el trabajo de sus sueños.” Es un fitness club de la mente, en el cual los jóvenes pueden entrar libremente y salir mas fuerte!
“ Lo que hemos notado es que hay una oferta muy grande en temas de comunidades: por un lado hay comunidades de estudiantes, por el otro lado comunidades de profesionales pero para los que todavía no saben lo que quieren hacer, que quieren estudiar o buscar trabajo, allí no hay ninguna comunidad que les apoya. Todos los que se quieren replantear lo que quieren hacer con su vida, estamos para esta persona.”
Eugenia llevaba ya 2 o 3 meses pensando en el tema de la empresa, cuando entró en su vida Bridge for Billions gracias al patrocinio de la Fundacion Creas.
La experiencia Bridge for Billions de Eugenia
“Bridge for Billions resulto una suerte increible.Tenia muchisimas ideas pero necesitaba estructura y foco, y es justo lo que proporciona Bridge for Billions”.
Le gustó mucho el ritmo que impostamos “Te sacan las cosas” dice Eugenia. “me gusta mucho tener fechas limites de entrega. Las Herramientas online me han ayudado a conocer la esencia del proyecto y hacerlo mi Propuesta de Valor. Y saber que al fin del proceso voy a tener un Pitch Deck listo para inversores, para mi eso es un drive increible!”
Añade que su mentor le ha ayudado mucho a volver al “porqué” y al “cómo” de lo su negocio. “Mi mentor y yo hemos tenido una afinidad bastante grande con respeto a los jóvenes y las problemáticas de los jóvenes. El me ha ayudado a entender mis beneficiarios y a volver al “porque” que hay detras de cada una de la decisiones que tomo con future.u fitness club.”
Bridge for Billions ha sido un fine tuning de cada paso, y Eugenia dice que ha mejorado mucho la comunicación de su proyecto. “Hice un concurso de Pitch la semana pasada y el feedback que tuve es que era muy inspirador.”
¿Qué viene ahora?
Con future.u fitness club, Eugenia esta centrada en cambiar paradigmas, mejorar el autoestima de esta juventud desilusionada y darles la oportunidad de crear el trabajo de sus sueños “A medio plazo yo necesito financiación para poder montar esta comunidad y este espacio y para empezar a inspirar a jóvenes… No están nada inspirados… Hay muchísimas historias chulas pero nosotros solo escuchamos “crisis crisis crisis”.
Historias inspiradoras
Cuando preguntamos Eugenia sobre historias inspiradoras, su primera reacción fue “Tengo muchísimas… Tengo una sobrinastra que estaba en una situación asi de “qué voy a hacer con mi vida” y ella fue la primera que asistió a las sesiones de inspiración y luego a los retos. Eran 10 chicas y decidieron hacer un desfile de moda en las calles de su barrio y aún ahora no puedo describir las caras de satisfacción de estas chicas. Entonces me dije, “coño esto hay que hacerlo, hay que llevar la inspiración a mucha más gente. Y de historias inspiradoras tengo otras: desde el tío que era un fracaso escolar, que empezó a hacer un taller de carpintería y acabó haciendo guitarras con palets por ejemplo; hasta el tipo que corría y decidió montar un negocio que acompañaba a correr los turistas en la ciudad… Se inventó su propia profesiona.”
