Most of us are fearful at times. We might not know how to cope and find courage. But others have trodden the boards before us and become experts at what to do. Letting their wise words sink into your psyche can help you live a better life, free from the burden of living in fear. This advice from well-known figures about what it takes to have courage can help you transform into the mightiest version of yourself.

Prepare to roar like a lion and find your nerve.

Nelson Mandela

  • There are no fearless people, just courageous ones.

“I learned that courage was not the absence of fear but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid but he who conquers that fear.” Nelson Mandela.

Mandela recognizes that courage and fear are often felt at the same moment. Many people think they must be fearless; otherwise, they’re not brave. But bravery has little to do with fearlessness and plenty to do with triumphing over fear. To be courageous, you need to let fear exist without imagining it’s a signal to stay in your comfort zone.
