Listening Matters Far More Than Talking When You Pray

Whether sending a plea or love to the Universe or God, you’ll get a response in the silence

Praying has always fascinated me. Even as a non-religious kid, I gave thanks for my blessings each night as a prayer until I fell asleep. As I grew, I continued to give thanks. But I also learned to be still and quiet because it was in the silence that wisdom, answers, and insights poured forth.

Every thought, in its way, is a message. It’s a statement of energy sent out into the world, not aloud, but via vibration that comes back to you, like a boomerang.

Each thought is positive or negative and has a frequency. When you think of thoughts this way, it’s easy to recognize the importance of creating high-frequency self-talk.

We focus on intentions when we pray to God, Buddha, the Universe, or Source energy (whichever resonates with us). We hone our needs, wants, and feelings, making them compact and clear.

In this way, prayers differ from regular self-talk. And, of course, we direct them somewhere or to someone. They travel from us to other ears, spaces, and times. Or, at least, we sense they do.
