We are honoured to announce that Brighton Digital Festival has secured £79,000 funding from Arts Council England’s (ACE) Grants for the Arts, an open access funding programme that supports individuals and art organisations in a wide variety of arts-related activities.

The grant will support the delivery of festival activity in 2017 and 2018 and as such marks a significant moment for the organisation. Longer term support from Arts Council England over the coming two years will ensure the sustainability of the festival, and helps to guarantee a high-quality, cohesive strategy in the interim period between festivals.

Providing a base from which it is possible to explore diverse funding streams, it will enable Brighton Digital Festival to further evolve in its role as a champion of progressive developments in digital culture. Along with a wide variety of new private sponsorship, funding from ACE will be used to encourage the engagement of different communities, create a quality curated strand of programming, and support the essential contribution of independent event organisers.

Festival Director Laurence Hill says: “We’re thrilled that the Arts Council England will continue to value the festival and invest in our intention to work with communities outside of the current core audience. We know that the amount of public funding available continues to get smaller and we have worked hard to diversify our income stream, which ACE recognises.”

We are incredibly grateful for the continued support of ACE. Brighton Digital Festival will be running from 14 September to 13 October 2017.
