12 Days of Christmas Wishes — Part 9 — China

China is full of amazing startups from VIPKID, Lingochamp, 17Zuoye, and many others. The culture is perfect because parents both believe education is a top priority for their kids and take personal responsibility, instead of delegating to schools. The challenge as an investor is that increasingly companies are incorporated in China and can’t accept $$$ investments. Companies still want to go public in our markets, because they are a lot more mature.

So my wish for China is that we see more startups open up $$$ investment. I’m hoping YC China builds this into the companies they accelerate. Fingers crossed, I would love to do more in China.
