Petrille, in his second term as register of wills, vows to use his position to help his peers influence probate and adoption policies and streamline judicial procedures across the state.

The Registers of Wills and Clerks of Orphans’ Court Association was formed in 1927 to facilitate collaboration and cooperation among the 67 county registers of wills and 17 county clerks of the Orphans’ Court who do not serve as registers.

The association promotes greater efficiency in the administration of its members’ offices and works to advance policies that simplify the probate, adoption and guardianship systems in the state, while protecting beneficiaries and incapacitated persons.

“Our members are at the foundation of the legal system,” Petrille said. “They help families in distress with the orderly transfer of property. They are on the front lines making sure our most vulnerable citizens are protected. They are there when lifetime bounds are formed, and when new branches are grafted to family trees. I’m honored to have the confidence of many experienced leaders from across our great state,” Petrille said.

“I’m looking forward to building on our previous accomplishments by offering the best training for our members and the lawyers and agencies who touch our offices.”

Petrille, 44, lives in Bedminster Township with his wife, Andrea, and his two daughters. ••
