Jealousy is a mixture of feelings that we as humans experience at least once in our lives. It can be caused by numerous reasons, sometimes we can get over it very fast and sometimes we cannot, most likely we will regret the actions or decisions we took at that moment. This type of feeling is developed from certain insecurities that we may be experiencing, even though jealousy seems to form part of human nature, according to Paradise Lost Satan was the first one to experience it.

Satan’s fall from heaven occurs because he wanted to be God. He was so jealous of how the angels worship God and the dominion he had overall created thing. Satan health a high position in heaven, he is described as the most beautiful angel ever created, but that was not enough for him. Satan wanted to be worship like God and rule over the universe, so he decided to fight God and take his throne, but he lost the battle and God cast him out of heaven.

After Satan was sent to hell, God created Adam and Eve. He had fellowship with them and gave them the liberty to do whatever they wanted in the Garden of Eden except for eating from the tree of knowledge. Seen all this, Satan got jealous of the beautiful relationship they had that he decided to deceived Eve and make her sin so God would cast them out of the Garden.

After Adan and Eve were cast out of the Garden of Eden, they gave birth to Cain and Abel. Both were raised the same way and they learn to work the land just like their parents. One day Cain and Abel brought fruit from their labor to offer sacrifice to God. Abel’s sacrifice was pleasing to God, but Cain’s was not so, on their way back to their house Cain could not contain his rage and jealousy that he ends up killing his brother Abel.
