“Paradise Lost” written by John Milton, showcases the idea of evil vs good. The idea of opposites, this is as well showcased throughout a lot of films.

Scar vs. Mustafa

We can take for example the role of Simba and Scar. Scar’s intention towards Mustafa and Simba were evil. He manipulated Simba into thinking he was good. He then murders his own brother and blames baby Simba of doing so. Simba grew up ashamed of this and left his kingdom leaving Scar to rule. At the end Simba realizes the truth and goes and fights Scar.

This is a prime example of evil vs good. The same method that is showcased in
“Paradise Lost”.

Another example will be Cinderella and her evil stepsisters and stepmother. They hated Cinderella because of her beauty, so they began to make her life a living hell. Her life changed once the Prince began to look for her.

In conclusion, both of the films listed were tied into “Paradise Lost” because of how author John Milton divided his characters in the epic poem. He explained to have two sides, one side representing the Good and the other representing the evil. He used examples of God against Satan.

Both of the Disney films represented exactly what John Milton did in “Paradise lost” book 1 and 2.
