Stories will forever and always be a way that we as humans communicate to each other. Everyone interprets a story differently and also tells a story differently than another would which is very important. Being able to tell a story through a song, a book, our own mouths, should be cherished, not only in life but in history.

In the Canterbury Tales, the many characters that came along in the General Prologue all have a very different story to tell. If everyone were to tell the same story in the same way it would not really be a story. There would be no depth to what is being said and it would feel so bland. It is important for stories to come from different types of people from different backgrounds and places. I think the fact that these pilgrims are so different from each other indicates that their stories will be very interesting and worthy of telling. Storytelling is meant to give you a different feeling each time and at different moments in your life.

Although nowadays, a “story” does not even have to be something that is written or told. Apps like Instagram and Facebook have so-called stories that are just clips of random activities or pictures. So technically, now, a story can be just whatever you want.
