ITV’s “Endeavour” will return in 2022 with a ninth and final series
ITV’s Endeavour, the Inspector Morse prequel drama, will return to television screens in 2022 with a nineth and final series. Screenwriter Russell Lewis, Shaun Evans and Roger Allam, respectively playing DS Endeavour Morse and DCI Fred Thursday, have mutually decided to bring the internationally renowned Endeavour to a close.
Filming for the ninth series began on Sunday, 22 May 2022. The following day, unfortunately for fans, it was confirmed the ninth series would be the period drama’s last. The ninth series, spanning three feature length episodes, will be set in 1972.
“Endeavour has been a real labour of love for all of us, and we salute Russell Lewis for his extraordinary achievement in chronicling Endeavour Morse’s coming of age across 72 hours of tv.
