ITV’s “Midsomer Murders,” after 22-series televised, remains one of the U.K.’s most popular detective dramas
Midsomer Murders premiered on Sunday, 23 March 1997. The detective drama, co-created by Anthony Horowitz and Douglas Watkinson, is an adaptation of Caroline Graham’s Chief Inspector Barnaby literary series. The Killings at Badger’s Drift was a one off special.
The first series wouldn’t hit television screens for another year. Written in Blood, televised on 22 March 1998, saw the beginning of the longest running detective dramas. Many excellent episodes, with 132 instalments televised, have come to television screens.
