After taking her engagement photos, Megan asked me to be her wedding photographer and I happily agreed. I have decided wedding photography is long, hard, but so rewarding to capture someone’s happiest day of their lives, it’s worth it. After talking with Megan I offered to design her Save the Dates, and eventually her wedding invitations. So I saw this beautiful couple from bubbly engagements to happily married!

ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS

We ended up taking the photos at Draper Park, right before a HUGE snow storm hit. It was cold, my fingers froze off, but the photos matched their theme so well everything turned out great. I even got Jordan to smile in a few.

SAVE THE DATE DESIGNS

I work as a UX designer now. But I do still dabble in graphic design work. I always love taking a break from app and web projects to do something in print. These I pulled my knowledge of mixing photography and font from a past project called PMI Travel Magazine to make these invitations

After some inspiration surfing on Pinterest, and some ideas sent over from Megan about what kind of style she was going for, I created this hand drawn Save the Date design that features her favorite engagement photo.

WEDDING INVITATION DESIGNS

Megan wanted to stick with the black and gold vintage theme for the wedding invitations. I wanted to keep with the same hand drawn vibe as well. These took a very long time to perfect and get all of the detailing exactly how I wanted it. The card was folded so it would open from the top, on the inside the photo was on top and the details were on the bottom. The registry was on the back of the card.

WEDDING PHOTOS

The Ceremony was beautiful, my favorite part was capturing Megan and Jordan reading their wedding vows they wrote to eachother. It was so sweet, and almost had me in tears when I saw Megan happy cry while she read hers.

The family photos were what I was most nervous for. It is hard to get everyone together in the first place to take photos, as well as finding a spot big enough in a small green house to fit everyone. Add in battling some harsh sunlight, these photos were definitely the most challenging to get.

THE HAPPY COUPLE

RECEPTION + CAKE CUTTING

These first dance photos are so fun, I was so impressed by the dance Megan and Jordan did for their first dance. Lots of spins, and dips. Plus the Daddy Daughter dance had me tearing up. Look at her Dad’s face. It was so sweet and I’m happy I got to capture it.

FAREWELL

These are my favorite pictures from the whole wedding, I think the colors, the bubbles and their smiles make them perfect.

Overall it was a beautiful wedding. I’m so happy for the new couple, and wish them happiness and success in their marriage.
