I was recently recommended to a girl searching for someone to create a logo. I was very humbled by the experience, because I had two wonderful girls, who I had previously worked with happily recommend me to one of their close friends. It was very exciting to know that people liked my work so much they would recommend me to others.

I began working with the talented Kimi Kunkler, to create a logo and begin a brand for her singing career. She wasn’t sure what she wanted, but gave me some ideas and things she liked from pinterest and some other places she had gotten inspiration from.

I started out creating a large variety of logos for her, so that she could pick a few and we could tweak them to perfection. I often do this, to mess around with fonts, icons, and over all structure of the design.

After a few tweaking sessions, and comparisons we came out with the final product. A purple geometrical design with flowers clipped from an actual photo I had taken to match her ideas. I then created a black and white version, and versions without the flowers, if she wanted to use a more basic version.

We were both very happy with how the final product turned out, and she later created stickers with them, and is planning to create more merchandise using the logo.

After promoting this work on facebook and a few other platforms, I got a huge influx of people asking about my design work, and looking for logos. I was so excited to have people reaching out to me, instead of me reaching out to them.

The next client I worked with is the also very talented Alyssa Torres, who does STUNNING photography work. Seriously guys she is amazing at what she does. She has been a photographer for a while now, but hasn’t had the time to really get a logo and branding situated. She initially asked for a logo, branding, and business cards, but we decided to hold off on the business cards, and just work on perfecting the logo. But keep your eyes out for her cards when we get them created.

Like Kimi, we bounced ideas back and forth so I could figure out what kind of style she was going for, and what type of brand she wanted to portray. After a few pinterest board collections, I started creating a large variety of logos for her to pick from that would be a platform to jump off of and create the final product.

It does get a little messy at times, but I think it helps me to figure out what they are really looking for, and gives them an idea of what I can create.

A big thing for Alyssa was a bee icon, and a logo with her initials, plus one that displayed her whole title. So I began creating a bee icon with some inspiration from her pinterest boards, and then made a few different logos to meet her different wants.

We ended up messing around with the initials logo the most, she opted for the one she found the most professional, the middle one, shown above. Although I did have a soft spot in my heart for the one on the left, with the calligraphy.

In the end we came up with three logos: the bee icon, the initials logo, and the full title logo.

then of course I created black and white versions as well.

We will hopefully be working on creating a color pallet and business card design to really kick her branding into full gear. But for now I am very pleased with the logos, and the end result of working with a client to create something we are both proud of.
