Of course they don’t, but the point here was just to check what is the optimal length for a heading.

When it comes to that, there are many other specific requirements that a good, or even only adequate heading should have. But we’ll come to that in a moment. The point is that, no matter how compelling and detailed your story may be, it will have a better chance to be read if you keep your titles short, relevant and engaging.

Keep your titles this wide or less

Short titles make it easy to feature lists of them in a publication. However, bear in mind that the overall effect must be considered carefully. Since we were speaking of zombies, here are some examples — taken from the BBC website — of short and punchy lines where the word “Death” is repeated too often.
