While we’ve created a lot of resources to help you improve your casting, there is absolutely no replacing the value of experience. Here are two great ways to get practice casting: A) Apply for Scrim Nights and our B) prerecorded broadcast feeds.

A) Broadcast.gg Scrim Nights

Teams need to scrim to improve, and you need to practice casting and/or producing. The Scrim Nights calendar makes it easy for you to find high level, coordinated gameplay similar to what you would see in a tournament. By streaming or recording the production, teams will also have an independent VOD.

Step 1: Download the Assets

We created a simple overlay that will allow you to display team names, track scores between teams both in game and on a break screen, as well as a replay overlay with live game PiP if necessary. Here is a link to the assets.

Step 2: Join the Discord

The calendars are maintained within the Broadcast.gg Discord in our #practice-casting text channel. Join with the link here.

Step 3: Record a Cast

The quickest way to get going is record yourself over a muted OWL VOD. Solo casting is fine.

Step 4: Submit a VOD to apply

Submit your VOD to #looking-for-feedback expressing that you’d like to apply for Scrim Nights and ping @MooshuBeef in it.

2. Prerecorded No-Caster Audio Broadcasts

If you’re looking to practice casting off of only a broadcast feed, check out the prerecorded no-caster audio video collection. All you have to do is screen capture the video and cast with a microphone. The video includes game audio, but no caster audio.

Hovering over the upper left part of the Twitch video shows all the videos of each collection
