Broadway will freeze over in 2018 as the stage adaptation of the Oscar winning hit Frozen debuts on the Great White Way. The musical will feature a book and score by Academy Award winners Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, and will play its pre-Broadway run at the Denver Center of Performing Arts in Denver, CO. Though we would love to see original movie stars Idina Menzel and Kristin Bell reprise their roles of Elsa and Anna, here are my picks at who should star in the new tuner:

ELSA

1. Krysta Rodriguez

Seen most recently in the Deaf West production of Spring Awakening, Rodriguez made her Broadway debut in 2005 in the short lived jukebox musical Good Vibrations. She has since then gone on to star in A Chorus Line, The Addams Family, In The Heights, and First Date, along with appearing in NBC’s second season of Smash. We would love to see this beltress’ rendition of “Let It Go,” which would, no doubt, leave us all with chills (get it?).

2. Lindsay Mendez

This Wicked alum, recently announced to star in the Broadway production of Nerds this upcoming April, has wowed us all with her amazing vocal chops. From her star turn as Elphaba in Wicked to her portrayal of Rose in the off-Broadway production of Dogfight, we have fallen in love with Mendez and would support her stepping into the role 100%.

3. Natalie Weiss

Internationally known for her popular YouTube series Breaking Down The Riffs, Weiss made her Broadway debut in Everyday Rapture, along with appearing in the touring productions of Les Miserables and Wicked. We can only hope that Weiss would riff up a storm (an ice storm, that is) if cast in the role, and we would surely love every minute of it.

ANNA

1. Laura Osnes

This Broadway princess was Tony nominated for her role as Ella in Rodger and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. Though she will be returning to the Great White Way in 2017 starring alongside Newsies alum Corey Cott in the new musical Bandstand, Osnes is bound to be in talks to star in Frozen, fitting the role perfectly.

2. Alli Mauzey

For those of you who were lucky enough to see this star as Glinda in Wicked or Lenora in Cry Baby, you know just how hysterical and talented she is. Mauzey would no doubt bring a new layer of comedy to the role and would woo us all with her powerful voice.

Who do you hope will play Elsa and Anna when Frozen makes its mark on Broadway? Leave a comment below and let us know!
