Following the mostly positive responses to our dream casting of Anna and Elsa for the upcoming Broadway production of Frozen, we went ahead and picked our top choices for the male roles in the show. Though we want nothing more than to see original stars Santino Fontana, Jonathon Groff, and Josh Gad reprising their roles on the Great White Way, we went ahead and finished dream casting the Disney tuner:

HANS

  1. Aaron Tveit

Broadway heartthrob Aaron Tveit would no doubt win us all over if cast in the musical. Seen most recently as Danny Zuko in Fox’s “Grease: Live!,” in which he received great reviews, Tveit has appeared on the Great White Way many times, including in Wicked and Next to Normal.

2. Jonah Platt

Brother of Pitch Perfect and Dear Evan Hansen star Ben Platt, this extremely talented performer and writer is currently making his Broadway debut in Wicked as the too-cool-for-school hunk, Fiyero. Platt’s slick, heartwarming, and mischievous look would no doubt make him a great choice for Hans.

3. Kyle Dean Massey

Please. Please cast Kyle Dean Massey in this role. Last seen on Broadway in the title role in Pippin, having also starred as Fiyero in Wicked (interesting that all our choices have played Fiyero at some point), Massey’s beautiful voice and great acting skills would shine in this role, and he would most definitely make an adorable couple with either of our previous choices for the role of Anna (Laura Osnes or Alli Mauzey).

KRISTOFF

  1. Andy Mientus

Seen on Broadway in Les Miserables and Spring Awakening, Mientus would make a great choice for the role of Kristoff. From his loving personality to his adorable wit and charm, there’s no doubt in our minds that Mientus would do a great job at filling the shows (or snow boots) of original star Jonathon Groff.

2. Ben Platt

Most recently seen in the Lincoln Center concert production of The Secret Garden, Ben Platt won us all over with his adorable portrayal of Benji in the hit film Pitch Perfect. Not only would Platt do a marvelous job in the role, but we would love to see him as Kristoff and his brother (Jonah Platt) as Hans, battling it out for the love of Anna. What’s better than a little sibling rivalry?

OLAF

  1. Alex Brightman

If you haven’t already, run over to the Winter Garden Theater and see Brightman star in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s newest musical, School of Rock. Brightman does an absolutely hysterical job with his portrayal of Dewey, leaving audiences crying from laughter each night. We can only anticipate how amazing and hilarious Brightman’s portrayal of Olaf would be.

2. Jared Gertner

This Book of Mormon star is undeniably a comical genius. From his portrayal of Elder Cunningham to his appearances on shows like How I Met Your Mother and Ugly Betty, we have seen just how hilarious Gertner is and we would love to see him as the adorable snowman Olaf.

Who would you love to see playing these roles in the upcoming Broadway production of Frozen? Leave a comment below and let us know!
