It’s official! Roundabout Theater Company’s revival of She Loves Me, which opened Thursday night at Studio 54, is a hit! Marilyn Stasio of Variety writes that the show is “absolutely flawless. Roundabout’s enchanting revival is so charming, you wish it would follow you home.” The show is packed full of talent, featuring Gavin Creel, Jane Krakowski, and Zachary Levi. At the helm of the production is Broadway favorite and Tony Award winner Laura Benanti. As we anxiously await the day we get to see the show, we have compiled our list of our top favorite Laura Benanti moments:

1. “Maria” in The Sound of Music

Benanti took Broadway by storm at the age of 18 when cast as the Maria understudy in this revival production. Though only her first professional show, Benanti delivered a beautiful and extremely memorable performance that launched her long and successful career in the world of show business.

2. “Louise” in Gypsy

Not only did Benanti deliver a stunning performance in 2008 Broadway revival, but she brought a new layer of comedy to the role which is why it is one of our favorite moments. Ben Brantley of The New York Times exclaimed that this was “the performance of her career,” and we couldn’t agree more.

3. Host of the Drama Desk Awards

Why did it take so long for Benanti to host an awards show? For any who follow her on social media, you know just how hilarious she is. We loved watching her host the awards show, making the night a joyous occasion for all and helping us to celebrate the great theater both on and off Broadway.

4. Solo Album titled “In Constant Search of the Right Kind of Attention: Live at 54 BELOW”

For those of us who missed her 54 Below show, we couldn’t have been more excited when Benanti finally released this spectacular album. From Broadway favorites to comedic tunes, we loved listening to each song and hearing how versatile of a singer Benanti is.

5. “Kiss L.A. Goodbye” on the 2013 Tony Awards

Benanti, along with Andrew Rannells, Megan Hilty, and Neil Patrick Harris, delivered a truly hysterical sketch on the Tony Award Broadcast about her unfortunate experiences in the world of television. Having two of her shows cancelled, Benanti’s performance was a highlight from the awards show that we watched many times over on YouTube.
