New Head Coach Jeff Boals and the men’s basketball team haven’t released their non-conference schedule just yet, but several of Stony Brook’s opponents have, which means we can begin piecing together the Seawolves’ early season schedule.

Columbia released their schedule via a fairly ridiculous video on Wednesday and announced that their season opener would be at Island Federal Credit Union Arena, renewing a rivalry that has leaned strongly in Stony Brook’s favor for the last few years. This will be the fourth straight season that the two New York programs meet, and actually the fifth game (the two teams played twice in 2014–2015), with Stony Brook holding a 3–1 edge. That game will likely be Stony Brook’s season opener, scheduled for Friday, November 11.

A little more than a week later, Stony Brook will participate in their first Barclays Center Classic, with road games slated for regional host Maryland (last meeting: a near upset on December 21, 2012) and nearby Towson (date TBA).
