> Tuesday, April 18 @ 5:30pm — Economic Development Committee

City Hall, Council Chambers (2nd floor to the left)

Key agenda items:

  • Vote on a package of permitting and inspections ordinance “updates”, including the discontinuation of the Housing Safety Office (whose duties will be absorbed by the Permitting & Inspections department), and the discontinuation of permits for keeping chickens at private homes. Public comment will be taken.
  • Public Hearing on Mayor Strimling’s proposed amendments to the city’s Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Policy, to ensure that companies receiving the benefits of a TIF are providing living wages and hiring diverse employees, especially veterans, women and immigrants. > Thursday, April 20 @ 5pm — Finance Committee

City Hall, Room 209 (2nd floor to the left)

Key agenda items:

  • The Finance Committee will continue to discuss the City Manager’s proposed FY 2018 (July-June) budget. This week they’ll discuss the Police, Parking, Permitting & Inspections, and HR budgets. Public comment will not be taken, but will at the public hearing on the budget on May 4.
