> Tuesday, June 13 @ 5:30pm — Health & Human Services Committee

City Hall, Room 209 (second floor, to the left)

Key agenda items:

  • Discussion of Sober/Recovery Houses in Portland. What are sober recovery houses? How do they operate and how are they regulated? Public comment will NOT be taken, as there is no action/vote on this item. It’s just a discussion.
  • Update from City Staff about the new noise ordinance that they are drafting. Public comment will not be taken on this item.
  • Discussion of next steps (design, site scouting, etc.) to replace the Oxford Street Emergency Housing Shelter. Public comment will NOT be taken on this item.

Read the agenda here. (For some reason, there are no associated materials provided with this agenda, as there usually are… so we’re flying blind.)

> Wednesday, June 14 @ 5:30pm — Housing Committee

City Hall, Room 209 (second floor, to the left)

Key agenda items:

  • Vote to amend the Short Term Rental (e.g. Airbnb) ordinance to revoke Short Term Rental permits once a house has been declared a “Disorderly House” twice. Read the amendment here. Public comment WILL be taken on this item.
  • Review of educational materials created by City Staff for Short Term Rental registrants, which you can see in this PDF. Public comment will NOT be taken on this item.
  • Update on the implementation of the Landlord/Tenant policies enacted in 2016: no members have been appointed to the Landlord/Tenant Board, but Planning Department Staff are currently developing a list of potential members. The Planning Department has also created an educational brochure for tenants describing their rights and responsibilities, which you can see at the bottom of this PDF (nicely done!). Public comment will NOT be taken on this item.
