Welcoming FreeAgent CRM and Dave Stephens back to the BRV Family.

As much as people like to apply and find comfort in analytics for decision-making, early stage investing is a bespoke profession, with an occasional guidepost to help along the way.

A few guideposts I have come to rely upon are: invest in proven winners, invest in businesses that grow customer revenue, and invest in strong product leadership. All three are these are present in FreeAgent CRM, which sets about to finally put forth a worthy offering to help SMBs grow their businesses.

Understanding that the business buyer wants simplicity and utility at a fair price is easy to say, but remarkably hard to do. Given that I’ve seen Dave Stephens do it up-close (Coupa) and from afar (ServiceNow), I was intrigued when Dave came to me over two years ago with what then a germ of an idea to simplify and improve utility of CRM for SMBs. A year later, BlueRun put in the initial seed money, and just recently followed with a larger check to accelerate the business.

While CRM is notionally a crowded field, I look forward to FreeAgent CRM as the one clear winner with the vision and passion to emerge with a solution that is head & shoulders above its erstwhile peers.
