The First BSN Global Tech-Innovation Summit was Successful in Bringing Together Global Blockchain Experts, Entrepreneurs, and Regulatory Agencies
On November 27, 2020, the first BSN Global Tech-Innovation Summit, hosted by the State Information Center of China, Development and Reform Commission of Hubei Province, and supported by the Blockchain-based Service Network (BSN) Development Association and China Mobile Group Hubei Branch, was successfully held in Wuhan, Hubei Province. This conference is considered as a blockchain conference at its highest level in China this year. The live broadcast of the summit alone has received over 800k views, receiving great attention at home and abroad.
At present, along with emerging technologies such as cloud computing, 5G, artificial intelligence (AI), and the internet of things (IoT), blockchain technology is also part of the “new infrastructure” China uses to manage information flows and drive the digitalization of the country. This summit was held to implement the spirit and policies of such national strategies to accelerate the development of blockchain technology and industrial innovation.
The BSN Development Association has chosen to locate the permanent venue of the BSN Global Tech-Innovation Summit and a BSN incubation center in Wuhan, Hubei. Besides Hangzhou, Zhejiang, the permanent venue for the BSN Global Partnership Conference, Wuhan is the second city selected as an incubation center and conference venue for BSN.
Wuhan is known for its high-tech innovation hub, as it tops the world in optical fiber and cable production and got strong government support for the semiconductor industry. The adoption of the BSN conference venue and incubation center aligns with the provincial government’s ambitions in driving industrial innovation and becoming a top-notch high-tech hub. According to Juhua Xiao, the Deputy Governor of Hubei province, during the opening speech of the summit, the province will use this event as an opportunity to introduce policy support and incentives for the development of the blockchain industry, introduce and cultivate a group of blockchain enterprises, and become the pilot city for blockchain technology in China.
At the Summit, other distinguished speakers include Mr. Liu Yunan, Director of the State Information Center, Jun Lu, Deputy Secretary-General of Hubei Provincial Government, Yongwen Cheng, Director of Provincial Development and Reform Commission, Zhiguang Shan, the chairman of BSN Development Association, Binheng Fan, General Manager of China Mobile (Hubei branch), Xiaojun Tu, the Vice President of China UnionPay , mayors from local governments, and other executives and leaders from China Mobile, AWS, Webank, Baidu, Red Date and Wanxiang Blockchain etc.
Notably, the summit has also invited Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, David Rutter, CEO of R3, Brian Behlendorf, Executive Director of Hyperledger, Silvio Micali, Turing Award winner and founder of Algorand, Vinay Srinivas, the head of quantitative analytics and digital transformation of UBS APAC, Fabian Gompf from Parity Technologies to give virtual speeches.
