Now you have a reliable way to preserve your memories for the rest of time, if you wish.

History

In 1999 I founded a digital photography business. Twenty years later, I have none of these photos. I could probably dig some of these up, but the point is, we have never had a way to reliably store photos for the long-term. We have always had to do this ourselves. We can save them in a local hard drive or in the cloud, but the onus is on us. We choose how we want to store these photos, where, and when we want to get rid of them. Many of us trust FB and Google with our photos today, but these companies weren’t around 20 years ago. Who’s to say they will be around 20 years from now. What if you could pay to store your photos for 50 years? What if you could entrust the planet with your photos, instead of centralized storage solutions at corporations?

Legal Evidence

There once was a time where a photograph could be used as evidence in the court of law. These days a photograph may be scrutinized and questioned. If we want to capture photos to use as evidence, it has to be done in a certain way. It’s not a 5m explanation, it’s enough info to fill a certificate course, it’s called the Certified Evidence Photographer program. What if you didn’t have to take this certificate, because you had irrefutable proof that your photo was captured at a certain place and time, and couldn’t be doctored?

Travel and Tourism

Everyday we’re traveling to new places, and entrusting in photos we see. We expect the places we go to, to stand up to the photos and we trust the published date and location of the photos we see. Sometimes we’re let down. Sometimes things have changed for the worse, and sometimes the photos are old. What if we had a way to produce photos and videos of a location, and provide indisputable proof that it was from a given place and time?

Entertainment

Treasure Hunters is a reality television series where teams travel around the US and Europe to complete complete challenges for a prize. The Amazing Race is another one. This is made possible because corporations funds this, with advertising revenue generated from broadcasting the shows on television. What if we didn’t need a centralized corporation to dictate the rules? What if you could sign up to compete against other teams to travel and complete challenges, completely decentralized?

A New Way of Sharing

One of the main reasons we take photos is for sharing. We want other people to see the places we’ve been and the people we’ve seen. What if we had a way to ensure that nobody could see our photos, only the people we give authorization, too? Celebrities have had their photos hacked from Apple, because these photos are stored as plain image files in a central location. What if you could encrypt your files, and store them in shards of data distributed across a network of nodes? Your files could never be hacked, and nobody could see them except you and the people you share them with. Nobody can use brute force to steal your cryptocurrency, they can’t do this to steal your photos either.

Possibilities

If you wanted to store one gigabyte of photos on the Bitcoin blockchain for 50 years, it would cost you around $22,760,250. If you wanted to store it on Ethereum, it would cost you around $4,672,500. We allow our users to store 1 gigabyte for $100.

Applications

To make this happen, we have built mapping software that will show all the locations where moments have been captured. Any user can see public moments, and logged in users can see private moments. We have built a virtual reality platform that allows you to share photos and videos captured in 360 degrees. We have built mobile applications that allow you to create moments from where you’re standing right now. We have built a cryptocurrency to allow you to purchase moments and to vote for moments you like best.

Release Dates

The Alpha version of our product will be out in Late March 2017. Our Beta will be released in April 2017. Lookout for our ICO in April 2017. Thanks for reading!
