If you were in London last Friday and couldn’t make it down to dinner with BTNG — well you missed something good.

To know why you missed a good thing — you have to understand that BTNG has a mission to nurture a tech community of Nigerians based in London — connecting people, ideas and products. And to carry out that mission, we have had a few events to bring people together. However, we realised that whenever we meet-up, we always end up spending more time at the pub — after the event — to network.

So we thought; why not create an opportunity where people can share ideas, eat good food, have a drink (or two), and you know, just get to know one another.

And that’s what ‘dinner with BTNG’ was all about.

To make it even better; we collaborated with the award-winning chef Tokunbo of Tokunbo’s Kitchen to cook up a delicious storm. She didn’t disappoint!

The agenda for tech + good food was as follows:

Starters
Carefully marinated suya chicken wings with homegrown spices
Delicate sweet puff puff balls
Finely sliced roasted yam chips

Intro talk by Ozo ‘Why you should build for Nigeria’

Mains
Steamed Jollof rice with tender grilled fish
Steamed Jollof rice with succulent chicken

Q&A by with Tokunboh on ‘Her food journey’ moderated by Uche

Lightning talks from members of the community Akin and Oge. And from first-time visitors; Henrietta talking about a new food startup targeting Nigerians in London and Keturah of Qeturah spoke about Starta.

And of course drinks (including èmu). Alright, enough talking, I know you want to see pictures 😉.

That’s it folks! The good news is that we’ve got something nice planned for October. It’s early days but you want to sign up here so you don’t miss out. Also, follow us @teambtng on Twitter & join us on Facebook to be in the know.
