Very few saw it coming.

And just like an unexpected Lagos thunderstorm, the novel coronavirus abruptly washed away all the best laid plans of 2020!

For us at BTNG, we’ve had an aperçu that things are going to be different. Over the last 4 years, we’ve built a community with you and other like minded tech enthusiasts. As you know, our mini society was primarily forged through events such as; speakers evening, debate and drinks nights, food & tech collaborations, not to forget our flagship yearly hackathon, to mention a few.

Now Covid-19 has become the force majeure affecting most of the wider society. And BTNG is no exception.

Thankfully we’ve always tinkered with additional means of reaching members of our community. And one way we’re going to keep you in the loop with all things tech is by introducing:

Our brand new vlog.

We don’t by any chance pretend to have everything about the vlog figured out. Matter of fact, we’re quite happy to confess this is a very public experiment. For instance, we haven’t decided on a name yet. However, below are some answers to questions that we’ve nailed down.

Your Questions Answered:

In one quick summary, what’s the vlog about?

A discussion providing practical answers to technological problems faced by Nigerians.

Sounds interesting. So you will take an issue and break it down from a tech angle?

Yes, that’s the plan. Our hosts will invite other experts to dissect a common Nigerian problem and demonstrate how a tech solution can make things better.

You mentioned hosts — who are they?

Sani Yusuf is a front end guru and all-round happening guy. More importantly, he’s an old-timer BTNG community member.

Tolu Alder is a product design guy and also the leader here at BTNG.

Uchenna Amby Uche loves all things web and is easily excited about good UX. She is a full time web developer and also a co-founder at BTNG.

What can you expect from your yet to be named vlog?

Practical walkthrough of how to solve problems. Funny stories and real experiences from sharing users/customer frustrations, proposing UX/UI designs to wireframes/mockups and maybe a live demo in action.

I’m in! When are you dropping episodes and how can I join?

First episode is happening this Saturday at 1 pm. Register your interest here.

Is there a way for me to submit ideas or participate?

We would love to hear from you. Feel free to drop an email to team@btng.tech with your thoughts. The best place to reach us is by joining the live-streams.

That’s it from us. Till Saturday — wash your hands and stay indoors!
