Uqoud — Complete Contract Management

Dubai, UAE — June 13, 2023 — MENA-based legaltech firm Uqoud has launched a novel contract management platform that is envisioned to become a globally trusted solution for creating, signing, archiving contracts and digital user onboarding.

As a highly legal, localized and compliant solution for the region, Uqoud aims to always maintain the highest level of security in all aspects of contract management and signing. Accordingly, it’s the first globally to leverage biometrics and ID verifications for identity authentication, to integrate to local signature authorities, and to also use blockchain-backed services.

“We are thrilled to announce this partnership with BTP to leverage their blockchain-backed services within Uqoud,” says Mustafa Bilbeisi, Co-Founder at Uqoud. “This coalition will further reinforce our position as the region’s first and most secured contract management platform.”

As a result of the partnership with BTP, the Uqoud platform now utilizes their blockchain-backed provenance product, Chronicle, to provide an identity service that includes transparent user consent management across multiple parties, and enables financial institutions in the GCC and MENA regions to digitally obtain required know-your-customer information in an efficient, trusted, and secure manner.

“We’re delighted to partner with Uqoud in the MENA region,” says Duncan Johnston-Watt, CEO & Co-Founder of BTP. “With Chronicle embedded in its contract management platform, beginning with underwriting user consent, Uqoud will provide a greater level of trust and security to its customers.”

Chronicle is a versatile, open-source product developed by BTP. It enables users to immutably record, and efficiently and securely query provenance information about any physical or digital asset — including user consent. By recording it on a blockchain or distributed ledger, provenance information becomes more trustworthy, and its management is more efficient.

Chronicle’s primary role is to be the single source of truth about the state of any asset, at any given point in time. It is implemented in such a way that sharing this provenance data with multiple interested parties is efficient, safe, and secure.
