At Bubby we are, to put it simply, in love with love. We’re hopeless romantics who believe in a world where romance and chivalry are not dead, and where shared values are the foundation for a life of meaningful partnership. We’re looking for our bashert — that person who will perfectly complement us and just gets us — and we want to help others do the same.
Before the world existed at our fingertips, finding love and lasting partnership was a relatively simple proposition. You often met your partner at school, in your neighborhood or perhaps at your first job. You met, you fell in love. Then you got married and started a family. Yes, it was a simpler era, but we also find enormous value in taking a look to the past as we consider building our futures.
In the world of modern dating, we are living in unchartered territory since no generation has had the freedom of unlimited options. With the rise of technology, the possibilities are seemingly endless — leaving us paralyzed by the paradox of choice. On top of that, the gamification of dating brings a completely new set of rules that quite frankly leave many of us feeling exhausted.
The excitement of app based dating was built on expanding your dating pool — more swiping was supposed to lead to more options. Bubby is based on a different premise though. We believe that it’s worth harkening back to a simpler time, so we narrow your pool, curating the people you would actually want to date with the explicit goal of finding real love. Bubby will give you fewer options, but they’ll be the right options.
Bubby is not another dating app. Bubby is a curated community of people who are relationship ready, who share a love of Jewish culture and values, and are ready to invest in finding meaningful connection and partnership. Our goal is that the people on Bubby would be the same people you might meet at a dinner party with friends — interesting and interested, creative, thoughtful and ultimately at a point in their lives where they are ready to find their person — their bashert.
Bubby wants to help you find love because we believe that love is the gravity that pulls the universe together. Love is what inspires us. It’s what builds and sustains us. While we’re at the beginning of writing our love story, we are forever inspired by the stories of love all around us, and we can’t wait to help you write your own story too.
