When it comes to finding a decent cup of coffee that comes with free Wifi, there’s more to Seattle than Starbucks. Much more.

There are tons of little cafes scattered around the city that offer top notch coffee along with a little slice of remote work friendly heaven. And with the vast selection available, you’re bound to find the perfect setup for you!

In order to pick the best of the bunch, we looked at a few uber important qualifying factors; reliable wifi (so you can log into Buckets!), comfy seating, friendly staff, yummy snacks, and — most importantly — an awesome brew. Our winning top 10 offer all of those things and more!

1. Freshy’s

2735 California Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98116

Freshy’s is definitely a coffee shop with a difference. The chilled out atmosphere and comfortable couches make this the perfect place to sit down with your laptop, and there’s tons of free parking outside, so you shouldn’t have much hassle finding a spot.

Once you’re settled into your work, you can sip on a cup of their awesome coffee throughout the day and hit up the extensive beer and wine menu when you’re finished up (or just to get your creative juices flowing!). If you fancy a snack, Freshy’s has an impressive menu full of healthy options to keep your productivity at an all time high. We hear the soup selection is the bee’s knees.

2. Ampersand Cafe on Alki

2536 Alki Ave., SW Seattle, WA 98116

Fancy checking out a cafe that offers great coffee and an even better view? Then Ampersand on Alki is the spot for you. You can chill out on the patio if the weather is good, or just enjoy the view from a cozy window seat. Other reasons to love this place include the friendly staff, fresh cookies, and the ever-awesome Seven Roasters coffee!

3. Victrola Coffee & Art

411 15th Ave E, Seattle, WA 98112

This place has some of the friendliest baristas in town, even at 6am! Combine the welcoming atmosphere with quality coffee, free wifi, and kombucha on tap, and you have a pretty solid working space. As an added bonus, there’s a back room available here which can be booked for meetings. p.s. these guys make a mean mocha!

4. Fremont Coffee Co.

459 N 36th St Seattle, WA 9810

This cafe is in a converted house with a huge wrap around porch that gives it a really warm and inviting feel. The cafe is divided up into different rooms that make it homely and relaxing environment to work in.

It can get a little bit crowded inside, but the outdoor porch provides tons of covered seating and it’s the best spot for people watching too! After all, you can’t work all day.

5. Ballard Coffee Works

2060 NW Market St, Seattle, WA 98107

Run by the owners of Seattle Coffee Works, this chilled out cafe comes with a private community room that you can use for working or reserve for meetings. There are a variety of brews to choose from, including an awesome decaf option (for you crazy non-caffeinated peeps!), and the outdoor terrace is the perfect place to soak up the ambient vibes as well as a healthy dose of Vitamin D!

6. Espresso Vivace

532 Broadway E Seattle, WA 98102

Espresso Vivace is well-known for its high-quality coffee, but it’s also worth checking out simply for the wall art collection! If you need a bit of creative inspiration, this is definitely the place for you. The lively atmosphere means it can get a bit noisy, but there’s a closed off room available if you need it — complete with a wide table and lots of space to work.

7. Uptown Espresso

3845 Delridge Way SW Seattle, WA 98106

Uptown Espresso claims to be ‘Home of the Velvet Foam’ and we can’t argue with them on that. This cafe and boardgame store combo serves amazing coffee in a fun atmosphere that’s populated with super friendly staff. If you just want to get some work done, you’ll easily find a quiet spot to set up and get down to business, and if you need some downtime — the board game library is definitely worth checking out.

8. Caffe Ladro

108 Union St Seattle, WA 98101

This Seattle haunt is famous for its yumtastic orange mochas, friendly baristas, and delicious pastries! Add in the central location, fast wifi, and spacious workspace, and you’ve got a recipe for a remote workers paradise. Plus, did we mention the awesome foam art?

9. Oddfellows

1525 10th Ave, Seattle, WA

Oddfellows is the perfect fit for the remote worker who fancies getting out of the house for the entire day. With tons of outlets available under the benches, there’s no need to worry about your laptop conking out after a few hours, and the spacious environment is ideal for client meetings. The coffee quality is top notch and there are tons of tasty snacks available. And if you fancy a few drinks and dinner after work, you’ll find it here too!

10. Roy Street Coffee And Tea

700 Broadway E Seattle, WA

This quirky coffee shop was ‘inspired’ by Starbucks, but we’re struggling to hold that against them. With a friendly, community setting, Roy Street offers super fast wifi, friendly baristas, and tons of seating options including the most comfortable armchairs on the planet! It’s definitely worth checking out.
