If you’ve been using Buckets to navigate your Christmas plans, then you’re already familiar with that awesome feeling you get when you tick that final item off your Christmas Gift List. But how do you keep track of the gifts that you actually receive? This is something that many people prepare for when it comes to things like weddings or baby showers, but it seems to be a bit of an afterthought at Christmas time.

If you have a large family, keeping track of who each gift comes from is a no-brainer. It helps you to avoid those awkward conversations of “thank you so much for the lovely gift you bought Johnny”, whilst hoping you’ll get away with not knowing what the gift actually was! It’s also a great way to organize a few thank you cards to show your appreciation.

To keep track of the gifts you receive, all you have to do is add two extra columns to your Christmas Gift List Project (or you can set up a new Project if you haven’t done this already).

Your family members will be represented by Cards and each Card will contain a Checklist of gifts they’ve received and from whom. Once you’ve sent a thank you note to each person on the list, you can tick off that item, and when each list is completed you can move it into the next Column,

The Sandbox makes it even easier to keep your lists updated. When you’re still half asleep on Christmas morning, you can simply take a snapshot on your birthday gifts and upload them to the Sandbox. You can organize everything into the correct Columns/Cards later, when the festivities are over!

Not sure who’s received what from whom? Add your family members to their individual Cards so that they can fill in the gaps. If they’re not on Buckets already, you can invite them to join the Project by visiting Project Options > Members.

Keeping track of the gift you receive is a lovely way to make sure that your family and friends know you appreciate them this Christmas. A quick thank you note goes a long way, especially when it comes to distant relatives who can’t be with you during the festive season. Set up your Checklist today to make sure that everyone knows how much you value both them and their gifts this year!
