Mike Tyson to Open a Cannabis Farm as California Legalizes Recreational Marijuana
The 40-Acre Ranch will not only allow growers to cultivate but will also teach them latest cannabis cultivation techniques.
With California having gone legal on recreational use of marijuana on Jan 1, the well-renowned cannabis enthusiast, Mike Tyson, came with more good news for the state. As reported by Mirror, the former undisputed World Heavyweight Champion is set to open a 40-acre ranch, called ‘Tyson Ranch’ for cannabis farming very soon.
On December 20, Tyson, along with his business partners Robert Hickman and Jay Strommen, and city mayor Jennifer Wood, broke ground on a 40-acre plot of land in a remote desert 60 miles southwest of Death Valley National Park.
Hickman says, “Undeveloped lands are primed to be cultivated and Tyson Ranch will be an oasis in the desert.”
The Sun reports that out of the purchased 40-acre land, the ‘Tyson Ranch’ will dedicate 20 acres to ‘master growers’ for producing high quality strains of THC and CBD. The ranch will also have a school, called the ‘Tyson Cultivation School’, on site to teach growers state-of-the-art techniques for cannabis cultivation to grow and perfect their own high quality strains.
The Blast, that originally covered the story, reports that along with facilitating growth of high-grade cannabis, Tyson Ranch will also feature:
· Hydro-feed plant and supply store
· Extraction facility
· Edibles factory
· Premium “glamping” campgrounds and cabins
· Amphitheater
Tyson has been a supporter of medical marijuana for a long time and his ranch will work to further the medical research and health benefits of the plant. CBD — a major cannabinoid with no psychoactive properties — has been proven as an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anticonvulsant, and antipsychotic agent, and has been widely used to treat PTSD.
According to The Blast, Tyson Holistic, the company operating the ranch, prioritizes serving the veterans, and the ranch will mainly comprise of men and women who have served in the armed forces. Located near Edward Air Force Base, the ranch aims at creating numerous jobs. The Mayor describes this venture as the “rebirth” of the entire city.
