When Gov. Phil Scott signed the H.511 on the 21st of January this year, he created history by ushering his state into the realm of legislatively backed marijuana legalization. While becoming the ninth state overall to legalize marijuana, it is distinct from the others because the rest did it through ballot initiatives.

The Bill signed into law by the Governor provides for the decriminalization of possession of up to an ounce of marijuana, two mature plants, or four immature plants. While steering clear of allowing a public marketplace for the sale of marijuana and its products, the Bill mandates the formation of a Marijuana Advisory Board which would study the effects of creating a taxed marijuana marketplace in Vermont.

This is a step in the right direction of allowing adults over the age of 21 greater autonomy over their consumption choices. BudBo stands by Gov. Phil Scott in his bid to prevent marijuana or its products from falling into the hands of minors while allowing adults over 21 years of age to make the decisions for themselves.

BudBo provides a smart tracking solution called BudBo TRAX, which keeps a track of all registered marijuana agriculture from seed-to-sale and thus, prevents pilferage which usually finds its way to minors through illegal channels.Greater legalization and regulation is the way ahead.
