A spy, rock climbing and 5 reasons to do it

Despite all the benefits of working out, sometimes it might feel tedious. If you would like to break the routine and try something new and challenging, you should try rock climbing.

Here are 5 reasons that might inspire you to do so:

1. You become a spy

When rock climbing, it feels like you're in a video game or in an action film. Your imagination gets creative and the theme song of Mission Impossible starts playing in your head. You feel really cool!

2. Can be taken outdoors

After a few indoor training sessions, you can take this sport outdoors to breathtaking places! Now you’d be able to workout with a view… mostly a rocky one… but once you get to the top you’d be able to see the actual view.

3. It’s a full-body workout

When rock climbing, you engage most of your body muscles. You’ll even feel a few that you didn’t know you had. Believe me... Plus, assuming you take short breaks between routes, an hour of rock climbing can help you burn approximately 500–900 cal!

4. It’s a non-repetitive workout

Every new surface (or route) you climb would be different. This means, that in every climbing workout your body will behave differently. This will ensure that you’re training more muscles.

5. You get to meet new people

This reason always holds true when you join a new community. However, do you actually feel motivated to socialise with people minding their circuits in the gym (or scrolling through their phones on the machine you need while they’re not using it)? Unless you’re in a class, it’s hard to meet people at the gym. On the other hand, if you join a rock-climbing society you might even go on trips with your mates to beautiful places to climb real rocks! Sounds like an experience worth sharing.

If you would like to find rock climbers near your area, you can do so at Buddoop. Buddoop is a social platform that helps you meet new people that also share your interests by joining and creating events.
