Breaking the Taboo of Making Friends Online

We are almost 8 billion people living on this beautiful planet of ours. The intuitive thought would be that we would have more friends, but in fact, some of us feel more lonely. It’s hard to find people in the real world to connect with.

You probably would like to connect with those that share with you a similar personality, interests and visions. This doesn’t mean that you are looking for friends that will agree with you on everything, but someone you can have long and pleasant conversations with about a topic you both are passionate about.

In other words, you might be seeking for a specific type of person to be friends with and that’s OK! We all want to feel like we belong somewhere and the world is too noisy to find our kind.

You wouldn’t approach random people on the street, ask them a questionnaire and then tell them something like “Congratulations!! We can be friends!” That’s a ref flag for cray-cray.

Meeting people online helps to deal with the noise and find others like you. Here are three reasons why:

  1. You’ll have an idea of their worldview and interests.
  2. You might find out you have friends (or acquaintances) in common. Making them more trustworthy.
  3. If you don’t feel you can trust them, you can easily become a cute ghost 👻.

Meeting people online is not any less social than meeting them at any other social event. You arrange to meet up and still have an extraordinary friendship.

What will hold your friendship on is not how you met but how in sync you are together.

To know more about Buddoop, be up to date with what we are working on and enjoy some humour, follow us on our social media: Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.

Given the global pandemic and your safety, we are delaying the official launch of our social network. For now, we are giving early access to a small group of people to get feedback on what we’ve built so far.

If you are in London, you can request an invite at https://www.buddoop.com/

We can’t wait to meet you! 💙
