Even the best of games can start to feel a bit dull if you’re at it for too long. You should probably take a break from gaming… Just kidding! Why would you do that? All you need is to enhance your gaming experience! You can mix it up with new games being released all the time or just take a chance on whatever game you find during a good sale on Steam. These are quite numerous and often reach as much as 75% off.

But there are lots of other ways to inject gaming with a bit more life. Here are just 5:

1. Overclock your video card — For those of you who are a bit more tech savvy and feel confident pushing your video card and GPU past their default states, overclocking can significantly improve visual performance and give you a whole new gaming experience. Be careful though, and read multiple guides carefully. While this is a commonly used tool among gamers, getting it wrong could burn out your video card.

2. Play the classics — Depending on how old you are, you may not even know how Call of Duty or Sid Meier’s Civilization began. And even if you were around for those original classics, a great way to reboot your gaming brain is to revisit the games that started it all. These are also usually the cheapest games to buy online and some titles have even been released for free circulation. And it really doesn’t matter what kind of computer you have. Operating simulators like DOSbox will have you playing games from the 80s and 90s in no time.

3. Mods… mods everywhere — One of the best parts of modern gaming is modding. Games are limited anymore to what studio developers release. Equally talented players who have worked out the coding system produce some incredibly professional-standard mods for most newer games. These are sure to give you a fresh experience, taking a game you know well and changing some of its core principles or graphics. When you were a kid, did you even make new games using the pieces of your board games? Mods are something like that.

4. Multiplayer — Until we get quantum computing, we may just have to learn with mediocre AI opponents. The AI can be challenging enough in the beginning and provide a substantial amount of intriguing gameplay, but the human capacity for pattern recognition will eventually render AI opponents useless. With an intimate understanding of the AI, which only requires experience and not any knowledge of the code, you’re probably winning every game on the hardest level. It’s time to go online and take on human opponents. They’re tougher, smarter, unpredictable and they’re sure to liven up your gameplay. Good luck!

5. Get BUFF — BUFF adds a new motivation to keep gaming and makes the entire experience more worthwhile. That’s because BUFF rewards you with BUFF coins just for playing as you normally would. Those BUFF coins can be spent on in-game items in any BUFF supported game or even exchanged for cash — yes, you can actually make money while you play for fun!
