XRDP on Ubuntu on AWS EC2 Instance Failing Again

I had an EC2 instance working with xrpd and one of them started randomly failing again today. I’ve fixed multiple different issues with xrdp on ubuntu and explained how I did it in prior posts.

Update: I login the next day and it magically works. ?!?!

Update: Then while I’m using a different instance it randomly fails and the screen turns black. If your’e using xrdp — be very careful. Lock down your network and check the configuration of your certificates to make sure it is secure.

I have updates currently blocked to my system from Canonical so the only updates I’m getting are coming from AWS, if any, I think.

I find it very strange that this keeps randomly failing.

I wish someone at AWS would look into this and ensure updates are securely delivered and configurations for this software don’t change if and when AWS applies updates — or provide guidance if any of this is…
