Not Every Critic Matters
Why some people’s opinions aren’t worth your time.
Imagine you’re trying something new.
You’re learning a skill, trying a hobby, or working on a goal.
But then, someone makes a comment that doesn’t feel good.
They criticize you.
Should you stop because of the critics?
Why Criticism Hurts
When someone criticizes us, it is personal.
It’s like they’re saying we aren’t good enough, not just the thing we’re working on.
To me, that criticism usually says more about them than it does about you.
Sometimes people criticize others because they are unhappy or insecure.
They simply feel better about themselves if they put others down.
These people don’t build; they only burn.
Their words don’t hold much weight.
It is like taking cooking advice from someone who’s never been in a kitchen.
So why let their criticism affect you?
If they don’t know what they’re talking about, it isn’t worth your energy.
