Join us for a guided walkthrough of the Aragon Building Block

This Wednesday, August 29th at 11am EDT/3pm UTC we’ll be hosting our first public livestream! We’ll be going over the Aragon Voting Tutorial currently available on ChainShot.

What’s the goal of the livestream?

The livestream intends to give more context around the Aragon Voting Tutorial to fill any knowledge gaps for viewers that may make it difficult to complete.

By the end we hope to cover everything you’ll need to know to walk through the Aragon Voting Tutorial and begin building an Aragon application of your own!

Do I need to prepare?

It depends on your current programming knowledge. To follow along completely it will certainly be helpful to know some concepts beforehand.

First you’ll want some basic JavaScript experience. If you’re unfamiliar with asynchronous JavaScript concepts we suggest you brush up on Promises and have an idea of what an Observable is.

You’ll also want to be familiar with some basic Solidity concepts. We suggest checking out our Escrow Building Block on ChainShot beforehand, which should get you up to speed.

Additionally it wouldn’t hurt to head over to the Aragon Developer Portal to get a good understanding of the different Aragon libraries like Aragon OS and Aragon JS. We’ll dive into these in further detail during the livestream.

How long will the livestream be?

We expect the livestream to take roughly 90 minutes.

We’ll complete the tutorial and show how to run the resulting project locally in the first 80 minutes. We’ll save 10 minutes at the end of the livestream for questions.

Where will it be streamed?

The livestream will be up on jitsi, available here:

What if I can’t make it?

We will be recording the livestream and posting it up to all of our social media channels if you cannot make it. Certainly join us if you have any questions you’d like answered!

As always you can reach us on our Slack Channel and follow us on Twitter for updates and a link to the livestream!
