On May 3 2015, the Bridge to Turkiye Fund Metro NY-NJ-CT Chapter participated in New York’s TD Five Boro Bike Tour with a mission to raise funds and increase awareness for the need of higher education among Turkey’s under-served youth.

With the goal of raising $4000, Team BTF gained support from friends, family and NY community members for the first-ever cause, all leading up to the tour date where the team biked nearly 40 miles. The Bike4Kids goal was exceeded by $600 with proceeds from gracious donors going towards funding several Microscholarships and donating items such as books, coats, boots and bags to students in need.

The $4600 aided specific BTF projects across Turkey, including:
- 4 Girls Empowerment Scholarships total (2 in Edirne, 2 in Kars)
- Books4Kids in Zonguldak
- Dictionaries4Kids in Sivas
- Coats4Kids and Boots4Kids in Bingol
- SchoolBags4Kids in Van
- Knits4Kids in Agri

Bike4Kids is excited to announce that continuing the success from 2015, the team will be biking again this year! On May 1st 2016, a group of volunteers will bike on Team BTF to continue advocating for bright Turkish girls and boys in need of financial aid for education.

Let’s work together to empower the youth of Turkey for another school year. Information on how to donate to the 2016 cause can be found on the Bike4Kids Crowdrise page.

Thank you for your support!
